  • Hi there,

Just wondering with some hindsight what you thought of your external antenna for the Iridium 9555. Was it worth it, does it work correctly, did you have any issues ? Any advice for someone who has the satphone but is looking to buy an antenna ?

    Thanks.

    • Hello, I think the external antenna for the Iridium 9555 is essential for offshore use. The installation I have which sits at the top of an antenna pole at the aft quarter is neat and is not much larger than the GPS, Navtex etc… The only issue I would say is make sure you have one continuous cable – try to install without joins or connectors to limit any possibility of signal loss or corruption.

      All the best
